The Starfish Story

by Tracy Currie on October 15, 2011

I’ve met a lot of new people lately and they want to know what I do…  and then the question, what is a life coach anyway???

In a nutshell, I help people figure out what they want, get over self doubt, get into action so they live a rich, joy filled life.  Sometimes we just need a little help.

There is joy in what I do.  I feel a lot like the little girl in the following story.

The Starfish Story- adapted from the original story by Loren Eiseley

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a little girl picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.  Approaching the girl, he asked, “What are you doing?”

The little girl replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean.  The surf’s up and the tide is going out.  If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”  “Little one”, the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?  You can’t possibly make a difference!”

After listening politely, the little girl bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf.  Then, smiling at the man, she said “I made a difference for that one.”

I’m touched every time I hear this story.  I get it, because I want to make a difference, one person at a time.

love & gratitude,

Tracy

Frustrations

by Tracy Currie on October 15, 2011

I have been trying to update my blog with imported content and the results are less than satisfactory.  Help!!  Frustrated to say the least.  I will leave it as is for now, walk away and hope that a fresh look, later, will help.  If someone out there can talk me through this, I’d be happy.  I’m not finding the forum useful.

Wild Flowers – Dedicated to Theres Kull

June 4, 2011

…And who am I to be wild?  I am the dancer, free of spirit and free of foot.  Wild with arms and body.  Not worried about how I look.  Feeling the pulse of the beat, allowing myself to flow, be joyful and to express.  For me, to be wild is to release, with no fear [...]

Looking Foolish

May 31, 2011

“Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos.  Before a brilliant person begins something great, they must look foolish to the crowd.”  …I Ching Today, I understand chaos, particularly of the mind.  I wonder why I’ve been so eager to display my “creativity” to the world.  The chatter inside my head runs wild [...]
